General Terms & Conditions

Currency & Exchange Rates

All rates and prices quoted are in New Zealand dollars (NZD), which is the official currency of the Cook Islands.

Government Taxes

All prices include all Cook Island government-imposed taxes and 15% Value Added Tax (VAT), subject to change, unless otherwise stated.

Apartment Rates (Self-Servicing)

All apartment rates are per night and are inclusive of the following:

  • UV-treated and filtered water
  • Ice making in your freezer
  • Smart TV connected to unlimited Wi-Fi
  • Use of shared swimming pool, outdoor furniture, BBQ, and facilities
  • Apartment linen changes every 7th day in winter and 4th day in summer on request
  • Bathroom and beach towels
  • Free laundry room with washing machine, tube, iron and board, vacuum cleaner and umbrellas

 

Note: On arrival, you will receive a Kia Orana Welcome Pack of milk, tea, coffee, sugar, crackers, oil, salt, pepper, mosquito coils, insect spray, two rolls of toilet paper and liquid soap. If these items run out, please top them up yourself. 

We provide all cleaning items, fly spray and washing powder.

Note: We don't supply body wash or shampoo in the shower. Please bring your own. 
 

3rd Party Bookings via OTA (Online Travel Agent)

If booking through a 3rd-party OTA, e.g., Booking.com, Airbnb, or Expedia, the terms and conditions provided by that 3rd-party OTA will apply. Please read their conditions carefully. 

Cancellations, changes, and amendments must be made through the original 3rd-Party OTA booking app. Muri Retreat cannot make any changes directly.

Right of Refusal

We reserve the right to accept or refuse any booking.

Promotions & Discounts

Promotions and discounts are offered at the owner's discretion.

System or Information Error

Reservations may be amended or cancelled by us in case of a computer, website, app or system error resulting in incorrect apartment rates and details. We will advise you as soon as possible and explore possible solutions. 

Accommodation Terms & Conditions

Minimum Stays

All apartments have a minimum stay of 3 nights unless approved by the owners prior.

Check-in/Check-out

  • Check-in – 2.00 pm
  • Check out – 10.00 am

 

Early Check-in or Late Check-out

To guarantee an early morning check-in or late evening check-out, we recommend that accommodation be reserved one night before arrival or extend the check-out date an additional night.

This costs $25 per hour, $75 for 4 hours, and beyond 4 hours requires booking an additional night.

Subject to availability and charged at the owner's discretion.

Parties and Gatherings

All parties or gatherings held at Muri Retreat must be approved by the owners before these events happen. 

Self-Serviced Apartments

As Muri Retreat are Self Servicing Apartments, we ask that you leave the room as you found it on check-in. This includes;

  • Dishes washed, dried and put away
  • General wipe down of the kitchen and surfaces
  • Rubbish bins in the kitchen and bathroom emptied, recycling bin emptied down at the Recycle Station
  • Used towels left on the floor of the bathroom - NOT in the shower
  • Sheets, pillow slips coverlets left on the bed
  • Leave food in the Activity Hut fridge/freezer for others to use or for donation
  • Lights switched OFF - Fans left ON
  • Windows, curtains and blinds open
  • Leave the door unlocked and shut, with the keys inside on the dining table

Payment Terms & Reservation Conditions

All rooms are booked without a deposit and have free cancellation for up to 14 days before arrival. Guests are welcome to provide a deposit, and this is optional. 

An invoice for full payment is issued 10 days before arrival via email to your nominated email address. It requires payment within 48 hours. 

All payments have the following options:

  • Directly into a Bank of New Zealand account, fee-free
  • SWIFT details for this Bank of New Zealand account can be provided for guests outside of New Zealand, but the fee will be set by your bank
  • Using a credit card via our integrated payment system, powered by www.stripe.com, a usage fee is set by Stripe

 

Full payment must be received before check-in. Failure to pay on time will result in denied entry until payment is made. 

Reservation Confirmation

All confirmation of reservations will be made in writing via Email or on Whats App. Verbal or other confirmations are not valid. Failure to confirm your booking could result in a cancellation, regardless of whether you have booked directly or used an OTA (online travel agent).

Credit Card Fees

All payments made via credit card will incur a non-refundable 3.7% administrative fee that is set by www.stripe.com 

Cancellation Policies

  • Cancellations up to 14 days before the arrival date are free.
  • Cancellations after 14 days of the arrival date incur a single-night payment. 
  • Bookings can be rescheduled free of charge.
  • Guests who book but fail to communicate 14 days before they arrive can have their booking cancelled by Muri Retreat

 

Note:

All cancellation requests must be in writing via direct email to dreweryholdingsltd@gmail.com or using Whats App +682 56 665 and must be acknowledged by return e-mail or reply on Whats App from us.

Guest Responsibility – Cancellation Notes

Should Muri Retreat have to cancel bookings due to events beyond their control, all monies paid as a deposit shall be refunded in full. The person(s) booking shall have no further claims against Muri Retreat.

No compensation for flight delays, missed flights, illness, family matters, or other circumstances will be issued.

We recommend that all guests purchase travel insurance to mitigate any travel disruptions, changes or unforeseen incidents that may result in the guest incurring additional costs.
