Please note: Rarotonga is a day behind New Zealand's time zone. Please check your flight arrival date and time carefully prior to booking your accommodation.

No, the Cook Islands are 1 day (23 to 24) hours behind New Zealand. That means you arrive in Rarotonga the day before leaving NZ and you need to book your accommodation accordingly.

Depending on your flight time back you will lose a day or two on the trip home to NZ.

For example; Flights leaving NZ on a Friday arrive in Rarotonga on a Thursday - the day before.
Outgoing flights leaving on a Friday arrive in NZ on a Saturday - or if they depart late on a Friday they can even land early on Sunday!

If you are travelling from a country other than NZ check the specific time difference applicable or contact us for help.

Always check flight times carefully when booking accommodation and ask us if you are unsure!

No, we don't have a Reception Office or live on-site. As we are 4 apartments, we wanted to keep these spaces private and relaxed for our guests. We coordinate transfers, bookings and visit most days to maintain our gardens, pathways and the swimming pool. All payments for accommodation are made before arrival. Exceptions to this are cash payments if we are picking you up from the airport for your return transfers to Muri Retreat.

From the Island's airport, you can get to Muri Retreat by:

Please contact us if you require assistance or prices.

Your closest beach and lagoon access is a 5-minute stroll away and is Muri Beach & Lagoon. At the end of Ambala Road, turn right and cross the road.

Walk 30 metres until you come to a grey concrete post with a well-trodden path through the hedge and past The Beach Hut, a casual dining restaurant and takeaway that allows access to the beach and lagoon.

Here you will find an almost always deserted tropical white sand beach and a lagoon paradise. It has shade, safe swimming and great snorkelling off the end of Taakoka Island.

Taakoka Island sits just off Nautilus Resort, and Simon, Denise & Jimmy often see turtles here.

Talk to us if you want to SUP or snorkel around here, and we can advise or assist you.
